This year's Cine Sparks program continues our festival's commitment to intelligent, mature movies for students.

In 2011, we will be focusing on films suitable for ages twelve and over. The selections come from all over the globe, and will present stories told in a variety of languages and from a variety of cultures. While the features have been selected for a younger audience, we don't consider them to be simply "children's films". Instead, they are all movies made with an eye for issues that concern younger members of the community, told with sensitivity, cinematic style and a sense of humour.

As well as providing an entertaining way to spend a couple of hours, the films have significant educational value, touching upon topics and themes worthy of discussion in the classroom. Study guides will also be made available for selected titles.
