AUSTRALIAN CHILDREN'S FILM FESTIVAL
|
If adults bemoan the limited access to quality cinema on the
big screen year-round, how much more limited is it for children?
With the second Australian Children's Film Festival, BIFF again
presents a rare opportunity for children to see films from around
the world. The programme includes three current films: Kirikou
and the Sorceress, a multi-award-winning French animation that
will charm adults and children alike; the delightful Paper Airplanes
from Iran; and Race to Space. With a restored Technicolor print,
The Thief of Bagdad, a spectacular fantasy that many parents
or grandparents will fondly remember, offers a unique experience
for young viewers to see a film 'like they used to make'.
Screenings are free to children
and young adults under eighteen. Teachers can book in classes
to the sessions by emailing biff@biff.com.au
for an application form. You can also stay tuned to updates
by clicking on the "Register for BIFF 2003" icon
above to be placed on the BIFF mailing list.
