Jurors
Adoor Gopalakrishnan is the director of the film Shadow
Kill, screening at BIFF this year. His extensive body of features,
short films, and documentaries has earned him a reputation
as one of the most respected Indian filmmakers and has inspired
a number of major international retrospectives. His seventh
feature, The Servile, screened at BIFF in 1995.
Andrew Pike was a co-founder of Australia's Ronin
Films, a distributor dedicated to modern Asian cinema. He
has had a long association with the Australian Film Commission
and the National Film and Sound Archive, and regularly teaches
classes in film appreciation and music for life enhancement.
Recently, Andrew has reduced his daily involvement in distribution
to focus on production of documentaries and feature films.
President of NETPAC France Max Tessier (Chair) has
had a long and fruitful fascination with Japanese language
and culture. He has written on film for a wide variety of
publications and has published numerous articles and books
on Japanese cinema. Max is a respected member of several juries
in European and Asian festivals and has worked closely with
the Cannes International Film Festival as an artistic consultant.
