Jurors
Jan Epstein is a film critic and journalist who has
been writing and broadcasting about film for fifteen years.
She has been published widely in magazines and newspapers,
and has contributed to many journals and books, including
The Oxford Companion to Australian Film. She broadcasts regularly
on ABC radio, and is currently developing a script for a television
documentary series about migrants in Australian film and culture.
Faramarz K-Rahber was born in Iran and is now based
in Brisbane, where he studied screen production (Film and
Television) at Griffith University. An award-winning documentary
filmmaker, he is currently directing a one-hour documentary
about an Iranian woman and her family called Fahimeh's Story
for SBS television.
Professor Peter Sheehan, A.O. was appointed vice-chancellor
of the Australian Catholic University in 1998, after having
been Professor of Psychology at The University of Queensland
from 1973 to 1997. Professor Sheehan was a member of the Commonwealth
Cinematograph Films Board of Review from 1982 to 1987, deputy
chair of the board from 1983 to 1985, and its chair for 1986
to 1987.
