Tickets on sale now!
The wait is finally over! Tickets are now available for this
year's Brisbane International Film Festival.
There are 200 films to choose from, coming from as far a
field as Iceland (Nói Albinói) and Vanuatu (A
Piece of Land). There are previews of films that will be amongst
the big hits in cinema in the next twelve months (including
our Opening Night World Premiere, Gettin' Square) and there
are wild, experimental pieces that push the boundaries of
what we understand as cinema (including Decasia). We have
docos, shorts, comedies and dramas. We have gorgeous genre-flicks
and we have astounding, creative films that defy definition.

So what are you waiting for?
Online ticketing
For the first time this year, we are pleased to offer you
online ticketing. Avoid the worst of the box-office queues
by purchasing your tickets online. Our online transaction
processing system is a fully secure system provided by the
Commonwealth Bank.
If you do have concerns about making purchases online, you
can still save time by purchasing a pass at the box office
or over the phone, then using the online system to redeem
your pass for specific sessions. See the next article for
full instructions!

Kid's Fest
The Australian Children's Film Festival is on again, allowing
Brisbane children the chance to see some of the world's best
cinema for children. Titles this year include The Race for
Space, a fabulous anti-bullying adventure about a boy who
becomes and official chimp-trainer for NASA, and Kirikou and
the Sorceress, an absolutely enchanting animated adaptation
of an African folktale about a tiny boy who save his village
from a witch.
These are the only sessions people under 18 years of age
are allowed to attend at BIFF, but the good news is they get
to go free. And if you can convince Nana to take them, so
much the better, as this year Seniors Card holders can attend
these sessions free too. Look out for titles marked 'C' in
the ticket guide.

Access
BIFF tries to accommodate all patrons and schedules the films
around venues to ensure greater accessibility. There is wheelchair
access to Cinema 1 and 2. The majority of BIFF sessions are
held in Cinema 1 where there is access for wheelchairs. Cinema
3 and 4 are up the Grand Staircase of the Regent Theatre and
there is no wheelchair access due to the heritage listing
of the building. Where possible BIFF schedules films that
are in Cinema 3 or 4 to be repeated in Cinema 1 or at the
State Library of Queensland to ensure access for all patrons.
Check the venue code of the film you are interested in or
telephone 3007 3007 for more information.
Ring ahead if possible to notify staff to be on hand at the
wheelchair lift in the Foyer at the Regent.
