ENTRIES OPEN FOR THE INAUGURAL COURIER-MAIL QUEENSLAND SHORT FILM COMPETITION
The Courier-Mail Queensland Short Film Competition (QSFC), aimed at
rewarding the creative talents of Queensland short filmmakers, is open
for entries from Wednesday 23rd April, 2008.
Held during the St.George Bank Brisbane International Film Festival
(BIFF), the competition gives Queensland and international audiences
the opportunity to view, discuss and vote for the best local short
films.
Entries are not restricted by style, genre or shooting format and can
be up to 15 minutes long. All age groups are invited to enter, and all
films made after January 2006 are eligible, provided they have not
screened at a Warner Roadshow Studios Queensland New Filmmakers Awards
(QNFA) event, BIFF Fast Film or St.George Bank BIFF event.
A selection of entries will screen during the St.George Bank BIFF
programme and will be judged on their creativity, originality and
technical competence for a $5,000 cash prize for the Critics Choice
Best Film. An Apple prize pack valued at $3,500 will be awarded to the
film that receives the most audience votes via SMS and online voting
with the Courier Mail. Prizes will be awarded during a special ceremony
during the St.George Bank BIFF programme.
For all eligibility, award and entry details see the QSFC Entry Kit and QSFC Entry Form.
Entries for the Courier Mail QSFC close at 5.00pm on Friday 30 May 2008
